The Beautiful Nightmare

I love Toulouse-Lautrec. He does a painting of what might otherwise be a joyous event, then lights it from below like a horror movie.

Feels like life...our surroundings seem to be colored by our feelings at the time. Even driving into a beautiful sunrise, the world can be such a scary place. The uncertainty turns my stomach sometimes. And to think, I used to live for uncertainty! Being bohemian in nature, "the American Dream" was my personal Hell. hehe. I wanted to grow up to be a gypsy, or move back to Europe and make my living by selling my art. Life has led me in a different direction thus far but one can never tell what the future holds. Maybe the excitement of uncertainty is worth enduring the fear. Maybe I do love this eerie carnival. :-) Later days.
